Are you ready? Read carefully and start the process of taking the Vietnamese visa photo by yourself!

Photo size visa for Vietnam

According to the Vietnam visa photograph standards, the dimensions of the Vietnam visa photo are 4 cm in width and 6 cm in height. This is a standard size of passport photos in Vietnam. 2 x 2 inches can be accepted in most places but it depends on your nationality so it is better to use the first measurements. The appropriate format is JPG and not bigger than 2MB. The visa photo should be taken no longer than 6 months before applying for the Vietnam visa.

It can be submitted either in colour or black and white are allowed, however, using any filters or trying to beautify the photo in any way will cause rejection. Use our photo editor instead which edits the visa photos with the official Vietnamese requirements. Try it and do not risk that your visa photo will be declined!

Should be plain, without any patterns or shadows. No one and nothing cannot appear in the background. In the picture should be seen only the photographed applicant.

The visa picture should not present forms of glare (like the one caused by a flash) that can make the photo unclear or with a red-eye effect. Take photos in daylight instead.

Face the camera and relax your shoulders. The full face, neck and upper part of shoulders must be clearly easy to notice. The head should be straight as the frontal view is required, the head should not be titled on any sides. The picture where the face not facing the camera or photos with the head tilted and closed eyes will be denied.

Facial expression

Smiling, especially with showing teeth, is forbidden. Try to keep your mouth closed and a neutral facial expression.

Eyes and glasses

The eyes should be visible and kept open, looking directly at the camera. This means that glasses are only allowed if they leave your eyes visible. Tinted lenses are not allowed.

White clothing should be avoided as it’s likely to blend with the background. Wear something you like and it is in darker colors.

Hair and headwear

Scarves and other head accessories worn for religious or medical reasons are allowed, other reasons not. Applicants with long hairs can keep them down as long as it doesn’t cover the face.

Applicants who normally wear a beard should keep it for the Vietnamese visa photo but if you are not, do not grow it before taking the photo to Vietnamese visa.
